Comment: What I love best about this upcoming holiday season is that we are first and foremost celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I also love the build up to it,all the beautifully decorated shops,running around in the cold trying to find the perfect gift for my loved ones,the way my house looks with the tree,seeing all the family, taking some time off work and opening up presents on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

The smell of cinnamon and pine floating through the air.I love that we play Christmas music nonstop from November to January 2012. The fireplace when it makes the crackling noise is so warm and inviting. I love going to the grocery stores, shopping for the Christmas and New Years dinner. I cook the holiday dinner every year and I cant wait until Christmas to do so. I love everything about this up coming holiday season from the giving gifts to the people that are deserving and appreciative of my gift giving and receiving of gifts (not expected but are warm welcomed), to seeing my mother and father, 5 sisters and GOD Daughter, cousins,grandmother and Aunties happy but I think my favorite part is the way my home feels with the fireplace burning, scented candles, Christmas tree, Christmas music, decorations everywhere, egg nogg and cakes and pies baking in the oven. Its the overall love and home feel that gets me in the Christmas Spirit. And I cant forget all the wonderful Christmas movies that we will be watching from now until Christmas.

Comment:What I have been enjoying and am looking forward to most this season is seeing the holidays through the eyes of my 3 and 2 year old sons. They find excitement and joy in just about everything -- from seeing Christmas decorations and lights driving at night ("I see Christmas lights!! I see Rudolph!") to watching Christmas movies and specials on TV ("The Grinch that Stole Christmas" is their favorite), to singing Christmas carols at the drop of a hat (usually repeating verses they can remember over and over again), to helping me make gingerbread, to decorating our tree, to running downstairs first thing in the morning to find where their Elf on the Shelf (Billy) has gotten to now, to writing their Christmas lists, to meeting Santa (and even both agreeing to sit on his lap!), to seeing how they bring happiness to our family, even after having lost both my grandmother and my grandfather in the past 4 months. Also get rubber gloves, sponges and scrub brushes here.	Vitamins Stay away. Some multi-vitamins don’t have the amount of nutrients claimedon the label; others don’t dissolve fast enough to be absorbed by the body.	Food Proceed with caution. Dollar stores don’t always have the lowest price, especially on generics, and cake and brownie mixes here come in misleadingly smaller packages. Lastly, keep an eye on the expiration dates, since they may be near or past their freshness date.
Greeting Cards Definitely. You can find a big selection of good-quality cards for every occasion for about 50 cents each, and you can’t even tell the difference in quality.	Batteries and Electronics Definitely not. Electronics and extension cords may have fake UL Labels. Cheap batteries may be prone to leakage, or may not power your gadgets as long.	Seasonal or Holiday Items Up to you. In this category, a “bargain” may be a matter of taste. Icicle ornaments look beautiful on the tree, but imitation pine wreaths? Scraggly and cheap.
Gift Wrapping Supplies Savings galore. A 20-foot roll of gift wrap is a buck, a third of the price at other stores. All sizes of gift bags are $1, but up to $5 at other stores. You’ll also find huge savings on tissue paper—up  to 75% off prices elsewhere.	Toys No way. Dollar store toys are poorly made and can be dangerous if they break. Baby toys should be avoided because they can be a choking hazard. They also often have unsafe levels of lead and phthalates.	Basic School/Office Supplies If you find a deal. Prices are decent, but not guaranteed to be better than Walmart or Target. Find better sales at other stores during back-to-school season in August and September.
Party Supplies Plumb this treasure trove: Foil balloons are $1 here, but $3 to $8 each at party-supply stores, gift shops and supermarkets. Color-coordinated paper plates, napkins, cups and plastic flatware are also good buys.	Lighters and Other “Fire-Makers” Don’t skimp on safety. Tiki torches and lighters may not be up to safety standards	Cooking and Dining Accessories Be discerning. Spoons, spatulas, cheese graters, ice cream scoops are steals at 50% to 90% off big box store prices, and you’ll find cheap glasses, plates and flatware. But inspect all of your goods before checking out to make sure your measuring cups aren’t missing pieces, and avoid knives, which may be flimsy and dull.
Aluminum Foil A no-brainer. At 3 cents per square foot, it beats out the prices at grocery and big box stores	Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Other Medications Better safe than sorry. Aspirin and other medications may be left on the shelf past their expiration dates. Some labels may not say where the medicine was manufactured.	Candy Your call. Economy size bags of generic candy are cheaper but can also have a noticeably inferior taste.

3. Tools How many commercials have you seen lately for tool sales? Too many to count probably! Look for deals on tool kits that come in handy box packages. Watch for big discounts on tool kits. They make great gifts for college students away from home!




4. Kinect and Xbox The Kinect and Xbox have been out for awhile now, so this month will be a great time to find super low deals on them and on other consoles. There are also great games out for every age and gender, so look for deals on the games too!



5. Cars! According to Yahoo! and TrueCar.com, December is the best month to buy a car. After analyzing data from the past 3 years, not only did they find December to be the cheapest month, but 6 of the 10 cheapest days ALL YEAR to buy a car are in this month! December 14-31 are the cheapest days, in the cheapest month to buy a car!
